Weed Man Lawn Care FAQ
Lawn Care FAQ
When it comes to lawn care there tends to be a lot of misinformation out there. Over the years we have heard many of the same questions come up time and time again. Worry not, Weed Man is here to answer homeowners’ most frequently asked questions!
Q: Is it necessary to order a full lawn care program?
A: Ordering a complete lawn care program is essential if you want to have a healthy lawn. While applying a single weed control application may improve the appearance of your turf in the short run, without continued maintenance your lawn will return to a weed-ridden state. Did you know that the best defense against weeds is having a thick, healthy and lush lawn? If your lawn is thin and weak, it becomes much easier for weeds to take over. Using a sound weed control, fertilizer, mowing and watering regimen all season long is essential for limiting weed growth in the long term.
Q: Do I need to order a lawn care program every year?
A: Some customers decide to cancel their services after a year because their lawn “looks better now.” When it comes to lawn care, we know that one thing is inevitable: weed growth! While your lawn might be looking better now, come next spring weeds will begin to grow again! Consistency is key for maintaining a healthy, green lawn.
Q: What are the benefits of having a lawn care company?
A: There are many benefits to having a lawn care company. Hiring a professional will give you a sense of comfort knowing that your lawn is in good hands. Outsourcing your yard work also gives you more free time to enjoy the nice weather in the spring and summer. Applying weed control, fertilizer, grass seed becomes one less thing that you must worry about. Instead, you can simply enjoy your beautiful landscape!
Q: Are your products different than those that you can buy at your local home & garden center?
A: Weed Man uses only the highest-quality products which have been specifically developed for home lawns. While you may be able to purchase some good over-the-counter products, Weed Man does have many “professional use only” products that homeowners do not have access to. Our golf course quality, slow-release, granular fertilizer is proprietary and has been specifically-blended for our company. Even though homeowners may have access to an array of lawn care products, it is equally as important to know how, when and why to apply each product in order to get the best results.
Q: How long after an application is done can my family and pets go out on the lawn?
A: It is important to respect any product that is put on your lawn. We always make sure to put a sign on your lawn after an application so that you are aware of what has been done. The answer to this question may vary depending on what application was applied. However, the golden rule is wait at least until the product has dried, which can take anywhere between 15 minutes to 24 hours.
Q: Can I water and cut my lawn after weed control is applied?
A: You should wait at least 24-48 hours after weed control is applied before watering or cutting your lawn. This will ensure that the products have dried and had time to penetrate the weeds. Watering or cutting your lawn too soon after an application is done can make treatments less effective. If you have any additional questions regarding our services, please do not hesitate to contact your local Weed Man. We would be more than happy to help!
